Thought I’d get the ball rolling by starting a thread on immortal pets. A sort of perfect topic that keeps things playful, yet practical. I’ve been imagining immortality for my dog, Napoleon. He’s pretty “old” at this point already but still doing quite well. The nice thing about this “experiment” is that he’s already lived an amazing and full life, so if I *fail* I can’t say I have any regrets - his long and joyful life are already a triumph in many ways. Also, the fact that he’s a dog (as opposed to let’s say a human child) helps me make some bold and radical choices I might be too chicken to make otherwise. That said, I am at a point where I would love some fresh encouragement and inspiration. What I’m finding in the persistence of immortality is the call to radically change and reimagine my relationship to Napoleon on a fairly consistent basis. My quest for immortality isn’t about how long can he live no matter what, but how long can we live joyfully together where we mutually enjoy and enrich each other’s lives and the lives of those around us. How do I keep his health stable and even awe-inspiring? And more so, how do I keep this FUN? If you have any messages of inspiration coming up around this, please let me know!

WoW!!! I actually thought that sweet Napoleon was a young dog. Whatever you have arranged between you guys it is working wonderfully. I first came across this lovely idea through a tumblr post I just loved how the person was so relaxed and natural about living with her amazing animal forever. I can't remember how she worded it but it allowed to stretch my mind and I took the idea with me for my furry baby/ mentor Jade. I have found myself naturally saying empowering, sweet, loving affirmations when I kiss her on her head. It has become like a fun singing mantra ritual.

Aww thanks sabrina , I'm so happy to hear that and I often hear people that walk by him in public refer to him as a puppy! He has a youthful radiance and I have an update with some great news: Napoleon went in for a teeth cleaning the other day and the magical lady who cleaned his teeth (au naturale without any anesthetics!) said his teeth look amazing - and he still has all of them! sabrina - Is your fur baby a cat or a dog? And what kind of affirmations do you sing??

My baby/mentor furry is Jade, the cat🤗 An affirmation goes with a sweet kiss on her head🤭 I go like " You are beautiful, you are loved, you have wonderful parents, your are eternal, you are timeless, you are super healthy, everyone loves you..." I give my spontaneaous ditto a silly name too😆 Just me being goofy with her while claiming greatness.
